It's All in the OT, too.
A couple of foundational issues with Old Testament addresses.
Deut.29:17. Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.
Deut.33. [Moses is blessing the tribes of Israel before his death. The Levites he praised for faithfulness, and pronounced a blessing only in conclusion.] He said of his father and mother, ‘I have no regard for them.’ He did not recognize his brothers or acknowledge his own children, but he watched over Your word and guarded your covenant.
