Love... Everything Else is Meaningless
Something I read in the Trowel this morning that I thought went along with the verse above, that a brother sent out this morning by alphanumeric page. : )
“God IS love. God doesn’t do love. He doesn’t give love. He doesn’t command love. He is love.
And you don’t have God—if you don’t have love.
Period. . . .
He doesn’t just encourage love. He doesn’t just generate love because of the good thing He is.
He IS Love and that is what it is about.
Everything else, no matter how noble, is meaningless.”
“Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God. The one who does not love—does not know God. God is love. God sent His One and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him.
Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another. If we love one another, God remains in us and His love is perfected in us. This is how we know that we remain in Him, and He in us. He has given to us from His Spirit.”
