"One" Reason for Spiritual Malnutrition
“Can the eye say to the hand, I don’t need you” or the head say to the feet, “I have no need of you?”
Truth of it is we do not really know what we need. Father, through His Son, Jesus, has made every provision for our individual and corporate needs “through each other.” However, we have seldom seen or experienced this provision to the fullest.
Our needs are not greater than the Body of Christ’s ability to meet them. The problem is the eye has said to the hand, “I don’t need you” and the head has said to the foot, “ I’m sure I don’t need you.” ( I can do it myself!)
In doing this we have said to Jesus, “I don’t need You,” because we have refused to let Jesus build us up through His endowments that He placed in each one of His Children. The price He paid for each and every gifting, to be able to serve and adorn His Bride seems to be of so little value today, in light of what The Beloved fully intended.
The absolute truth is, precious brothers and sisters, none of us will ever reach that place, in Christ, that He desires to bring us to without the help of the indwelling Savior, abiding in each one, being released amongst us. Dare we break off our slumber and apathy to give to the One, Who gave all for us, the long awaited desire of His heart?
St. Paul expressed it thus “……..that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:12-13).
That’s His desire for us. What is our desire toward Him?
