Run YOUR Race to Win

9/8/2006

Have you ever noticed during those times when you’ve run on foot several miles or kilometers, that...

1) If you run too slowly you will get bored and want to quit, and

2) If you run very hard and fast, you will be in great pain and be tempted to back off to a slower pace, or to quit.

Similarly, have you noticed that the majority of folks never put any effort into anything Meaningful. It is the same with Spiritual matters as in a foot race or journey. Most are “bored to tears” by the uselessness of what they are about, and they are unwilling to Change, at present. For others, the pain of Meaningful effort for Jesus is a higher price than they want to pay ongoing—and so they resist or reject or hide, or try to change the Objective to fit lukewarm and mediocre standards that are not Jesus.

But Jesus says to you:

The kingdom of the heavens is like a treasure hid in the field, which a man having found has hid, and for the joy of it goes and sells all whatever he has, and buys that field.

Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls; and having found one pearl of great value, he went and sold all whatever he had and bought it.

Run YOUR race in such a way as to win the Prize.
