He Will Come

4 For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “At first my people went down to Egypt to live; lately, Assyria has oppressed them.
5 “And now what do I have here?” declares the LORD.
“For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who rule them mock, ” declares the LORD.
“And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed.
6 Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.” Isaiah 52:4-6
One would think that God would never allow his name to be mocked for a moment, let alone for quite some time as is obvious in this verse. God’s blessings are not linear and escalating daily as we would prefer, I think. Does God cease to exist or cease to matter when we don’t see his hand working today the way we did yesterday?
Father is looking for the unbending, undaunted, exuberant worshipers and servants even in “the bad times,” from our perspective. He will Come. He will do what HE needs to do, not what we want Him to do necessarily. But He will come and show Himself mighty and loving in His way, in His time, for His purposes. It is not about “us”—but about Him. Always. And He will Come.
“Therefore my people will know my name.” His passion, our only ambition.
