The Proof He Lives Is by What He Gives
9/16/2025
People do stupid things, saved and unsaved. People get in bad loops and make bad choices, Christian or non-Christian. People feel miserable chemically and situationally, with the Spirit living inside and without the Spirit living inside. The difference is not about behavior. The difference is not about feeling. The covenant down-payment of the Spirit does this if we care:
God is LOVE. Love-incarnate occupies space and thought and instruction, counsel and comfort as a friend, as family, as a candle in the dark to guide us. It brings conviction when we are idiots, not fear per se, but fear of loss of intimacy with God. Like rolling over in the middle of the night and discovering the love of your life isn’t there—speaking of the spirit realm. Or, like a child in a store or amusement park with his parents, he can’t find them. Or vice versa. “Where did he go? Where did she go?! Come back!”
When we over-entertain ourselves, or miss opportunities to love and care for others, or speak foolishly in a way that might hurt someone or neglect someone, or we make choices that are selfish or ridiculously stupid involving Internet or time or evenings or lunches or with our children or other believers, “the nose on the glass slab” away from thoughts and intimacy with God or others is devastating to our heart... When. We. Have. The. Spirit.
Otherwise it’s just do good or do bad, man-please, yeah but, my reasons are... But we don’t feel anything particularly other than what other people might be thinking. No spirit equals no life inside. And this is not about feelings, and tingles up the spine, and tears in the eyes, and interesting ways of connecting ideas, and judgments of others, and comparisons, and excuses.
It is the... Person. Of. Jesus. The Christ. Living. Inside!
Or it’s just religion and we need the Covenant and our sins forgiven.
The gift of the Spirit that Peter spoke of and they Lived, from the beginning of Acts 2 until the end of Acts 2, that Jesus spoke of and lived, never doing anything He did not see the Father doing or saying anything He did not hear the Father saying, THAT IS REAL. It was and is the promise of everyone who truly makes covenant. That’s how we know.
I was thinking the last couple days about the night and day difference I’ve seen in those with the Spirit versus those without when faced with Truth and things that need repented of...
One says, “Yeah, but I, I, I, me, me, me...” The other says, “Yes! BUT GOD!!! He… Him…Go, Jesus!”
“This is how we know that He lives in us: We know it by the Spirit He gave us.” (1 John 3:24)
This is the literal meaning
“And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, ‘Abba! Father!’” (Galatians 4:6)
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God (Daddy’s little boys and girls). For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’ The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ...” (Romans 8:14-17)
“You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.” (Romans 8:9)
One without the Spirit is essentially “a spiritual sociopath” and doesn’t even notice when the Spirit groans or leaves due to our disConnected choices.
