Holy Spirit, you are welcome in this place… What does this MEAN?

Of course, we are not searching for a “magic incantation” when we sing this song -- to make us feel better, or to win our battles, right?

So, then, WHO is this Spirit of Christ that we are inviting into our places, our days, and our situations?

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
(Isa.11:2)

HOLY Spirit, OTHER ONE, radical unlike the spirit of the age or of flesh, YOU are welcome in THIS place, where I am, where we are.

Spirit of the LORD, Man of War, Captain of the Lord’s Hosts, conqueror of all enemies of YOURS, LORD, who opens doors NO one can shut and shuts doors NO one else can open, YOU ARE WELCOME in this place where you are needed for “on earth, as it IS in Heaven.”

Spirit of Wisdom, Light for the path, Rosetta for the encryption of pain and glory, Bridge over the Rubicon of reason or safety or status quo, you are WELCOME in this place.

Spirit of understanding, Sense for the senseless, window into the past, present, and the future, YOU are welcome.

Spirit of Counsel, we are LISTENING! Wonderful counselor, answer to all, life to the lifeless, guide to the blind, healer of our wounded souls, our strength and endurance, come and feel welcome in this place of our lives and homes and relationships.

Spirit of Might, DO! In this present age of cells, molecules, atoms, and time, YOU are the Mover of all, at your Word. Storms quiet, mountains move, “dead” raised, armies and nations are raised and fall by YOUR Word, alone. YOU are the Spirit of DO, not philosophies of men. And you are WELCOME in this place. YOU know best.

Spirit of Knowledge, you alone are the Author of, music and of mathematics, of discoveries in science and technology and space, at your discretion, in your timing, to the degree YOU allow insights to flutter past the view of mere men. Spirit of Knowledge, open the eyes of YOUR chosen ones, to make a Testimony of LIFE and devastate the lies of satan that one must be deficient to believe we are accountable to, and dependent upon YOU. It is truly the opposite, where “the fool says in his heart there is no God.” Make it evident! Unleash the new Music of the ages from the lips of your servants, that all would cry, “Take us to your God!” Oh please, visit us, LIVE with us in this place. You are welcome here.

Spirit of the fear for the Lord, we only fear not fearing you, and not hearing you. You are EVERYTHING to us, and to this Universe, this Duoverse where your Name is your Life, and is to fully be our Life. Your yoke is easy, your burden light. Peter said, we are to be “conscious of God” and know that YOU are the Author, YOU are the perfecter, there is no God but you, and you are in all and above all, all things were made by you and for you… This we do, and you are WELCOME in this place where we are. We DESIRE to “live and move and have our being” in the ONE who “gives good gifts to His children.”

We are yours and you are WELCOME in this place of our hearts and minds, our lives and loves.

Holy Spirit, you are welcome in THIS place. Omnipotent father of mercy, and grace. Spirit of the Living God, you are WELCOME: all that you are, IN THIS PLACE where we are!

What then does this mean? Ah!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
