Share My Thoughts With You
5/19/2001
How have you been? It’s a so long time that we did not get contact. Firstly, thanks for all emails from you.
What is the meaning of Jesus? I think it is love, great love. Everyone is given a lot blessing from Jesus, and we should pass it to people around. Love is flowing. That’s my own opinion for belief. And I don’t know whether it’s right or not. I wish I could share some thoughts with you.
My mom met confusion today. A colleague of her is Christian. In her home there is family gathering every week. Today she invited my mom to join in. But said if my mom does not join in her family gathering ASAP, maybe she can not wait to that time and God will take her life away.
Actually in last half a year my mom prays almost every night, and she told me she can feel more and more love from Jesus. But after she talked with the person from work, she is in a little scare. I think Jesus is love, but not scare. Am I right? So should we take part in that family gathering or any other advice that you could give us?
I wish I express all my problems and thoughts clearly in this email, because I did not write long English mail for about 2 years.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes,
Oh dear friend! I was so very, very happy to hear from you!! We think of you very often, and many people here that are close to me in Jesus know your name and ask about you! Also, I am very happy that you are able to receive the Emails. I wondered if you were getting them, as I know that it is not always easy to receive them and email addresses change and other things can happen. SO, I am glad.
I am very excited to hear your questions and want to answer them by saying a little bit now, and also to send you an Email book, one chapter at a time, about how WONDERFUL the Master is! Oh, He is FAR MORE than even “great Love!” And, just as a parent shows love to their children in ways the child does not understand or even enjoy at times, the great Love that Jesus has for us SOMETIMES is not easy for us to understand, since we are His children. Sometimes, we don’t always like the WAY He loves us, since He is correcting us and protecting us!
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, in Heaven watching us, let us pull off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterward. Now he is seated in the place of highest honor beside God’s throne in heaven. Think about all he endured when sinful people did such terrible things to him, so that you don’t become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.”
“And have you entirely forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you, his children? He said, “My child, don’t ignore it when the Lord disciplines you, and don’t be discouraged when he corrects you. For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes those he accepts as his children.”
“As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Whoever heard of a child who was never disciplined? If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children after all. Since we respect our earthly fathers who disciplined us, should we not all the more cheerfully submit to the discipline of our heavenly Father and live forever?”
“For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always right and good for us because it means we will share in his holiness. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening-it is painful! But afterward there will be a quiet harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.”
“So take a new grip with your tired hands and stand firm on your shaky legs. Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong.”
Now, because He does this protection and guidance and sometimes “spankings” for us, to help us grow to be like Him and protect us from many of our bad decisions, SOMETIMES there will be times when He challenges us—and it doesn’t feel so good! That’s okay! He loves us in the BEST way, not just to make us feel good.
Now, it could be that your mom’s co-worker is right that you and your mom will come to know Jesus better and more quickly and your lives will change to be like Him in a Higher way in the gathering of His People in homes every week, and hopefully much more often than that! She is very likely right about that, depending on the quality of the people that you and your mom would get to know. However, it is NOT true that a person must meet in that less formal situation in order to love Jesus and belong to Him and obey Him with all of their heart.
As an example from the “Friday’s” restaurant where we went to get food with you: PERHAPS I can live if I were to eat chocolate ice cream desserts as my every meal. BUT, I would be much stronger and healthier if I ate other foods most of the time. RIGHT?! (I know how you love American foods, NOT!) If I eat the good foods and healthy foods, it would be best for me. BUT, I will not die if I eat not-so-healthy foods. At least not for many, many, many years. You and your mom should probably take advantage of being with some others sometimes, just to find out more who they are. I think you will have a pleasant surprise and enjoy a freshness. But you should also not abandon those you love and know from the church you showed to us. Weave the two together!
But, YOUR MOM SHOULD NOT BE SCARED! Father loves her dearly, and only wants the best for her. Now, He may STRETCH her at times, as your mother did for you when you were very young, as every good parent does to make the child strong. And that can BE a little scary sometimes. BUT, mostly He is a very kind and patient and wise Father to us, and stretches us CAREFULLY. : )
Well, your English is very good! And I hope you will be able to write with every question that you think of to ask! Ask Jesus, and write emails to us too! We totally LOVE to hear from you, and pray for you and your mom often! You are not forgotten!!!! FAR from that!!!!
