An Opportunity

7/17/1986

By God's grace, you have an opportunity, and God is opening a window to you right now. If you choose to ignore these things, your heart will be hardened. If there is no hardening of your heart, you have a window open that you can walk into heavenly things. Beginning right now you can have that opportunity to put away the things of the past and to move into things that are real and tangible and will change your life and your soul. Jesus came to be a Friend, He came to be Savior, a Lover of people, and He demonstrated that very clearly. Yet, the choice we all make is this: if He is not going to be our Friend, if He is not going to be our Savior, if He is not going to be One that we walk with and share Life with heart, soul, mind, and strength—then He becomes our Judge. The rider on the white horse, Faithful and True, is judging the nations with vengeance. Treading out the winepress of the fury of God. Why? The wrath of God is being revealed on the godlessness and the wickedness of men. If we are going to go on in the depravity of our minds, then we will be judged for that. There is no way out. Sincerity won't cut it and morality won't cut it. I’m not talking about morality. I am talking about taking your whole life and investing it in God and saying, “I'm not going to make any more decisions on my own. God is going to make those decisions. I am going to find the people of God that are operating in the power of the Holy Spirit and the purity and the fellowship, where people are sharing their lives together, having all things in common.”

The only Biblical pattern is to share Life, to be devoted to having Life together in Power and in Purity, day in and day out. That's the only Biblical pattern available to us. That's what God gave to planet earth—His Bride. The Body has many members, and yet it's one. We have to walk into the Power of God in that way. Think about your own life, and think about the depravity that we've talked about, the wickedness that made up our whole life. It would have been perfectly justifiable for Jesus Christ to have come down from the throne of God, brushed Himself off, come down to planet earth and with great fury destroyed us. That would have been His right, and we would have deserved it.
