Asking According to His Will

A Note Amongst the Saints Here Locally, This Morn......

“This is the assurance we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we will have what we asked of Him........ We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is True.”

....... I have noticed this over the years: When I have no sense that “He has heard me” or internal Connectedness as I am speaking with Him and “asking”—it is because either

1) I have unresolved business with Him that i am avoiding, or

2) I am asking the wrong things. OFTEN it is that I am asking “big picture” stuff (such as “CHANGE ME, PLEASE, OH GOD!”) when He WANTS me to ask Him about smaller, specific, practical things (such as, “Father, show me what you want me to do TODAY, step by step, and I will obey with all of my heart—with no expectations or demands or ‘deals’—just because I want to learn how to love You, or love You again.”).

He satisfies my heart that I have found HIM far more often when I am “asking the Right things” and am therefore “asking according to HIS will.” When I can’t seem to find Him, i know it’s not HIS fault. : ) He LOVES to give Good Gifts to His little ones. When I make myself “little” and adjust my “requests” until I find HIM, I have discovered He gives me “Understanding” in addition to “hearing my prayer.” And, we have all experienced that His Wisdom is worth more than any amount of wealth or anything else on this earth.

If we will deal with ourselves properly, and seek out HIS Prayer—and connect to THAT, we will find satisfaction for our souls, answer to HIS prayer... and Wisdom. All because HE HOLDS OUT ON US when we bring Him the cheap stuff. : )
