Jesus said: “Be careful. Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees AND THAT OF HEROD” (Mark 8:15).

Beware the infection and perversion of your heart and mind that come from being near to the disease of the Pharisees, or the disease of Herod. Be alert. Such “infections” spread quickly, and are eventually fatal.

The leaven of the Pharisees is obvious: “You can earn Righteousness or favor if you accomplish, or do, or don’t do this, and this, and that. The quality of your heart, in the secret places, is not an issue. Religion is about doing and not doing certain things to earn validation and exoneration.” The “leaven of the Pharisees” is contagious. It is a death plague. Avoid all such people, saith the Lord.

What was the yeast of Herod?

Carnality, foolishness, and pride be-headed, murdered John. Herod’s yeast, his disease, is as common today as that of the Pharisees. Although very different in nature, Herod’s yeast is common, contagious, and lethal—as much so as the yeast of the Pharisees.

“Be careful. Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees AND THAT OF HEROD” saith the Lord.

Herod’s yeast expressed itself as follows:

Herod feared John.

Herod protected him.

Herod knew him to be a holy and righteous man.

Herod was greatly amazed when he heard him.

Herod liked to listen to him.

(Mark 6:20)

Yet he still killed John—because willing OBEDIENCE, at a cost, was not at the heart of Herod’s seeming admiration for Truth…

Beware the yeast of HEROD.

The Master calls this Herod thing a contagious disease and “yeast”—because this illness will infect anyone who will not “avoid such a person.” Those who sing the love song, but WILL NOT OBEY, those who “admire” the Truth but WILL NOT CHANGE, these are “foolish” (Mat.7) men and women. All who live in this “house” will eventually and inevitably be crushed from the falling beams and joists, saith the Lord of Hosts. Don’t be near any such person, or the disease will spread to you, subtly and unknowingly. “Admiring” or “quoting” or “chanting” or “promoting” or “web-siting” or “over-land-and-sea exporting” of Truth-ideas, absorbing and “using” Truth for oneself…will replace obedience in the inward man. And, as the yeast ferments and inebriation follows, there will be no pain of conscience for disobedience. Killing God’s Life, beheaded on a silver platter, to satisfy the perversions of the entourage and the beat of the dance will not be as difficult at that moment as it seems now, when one thinks they are “protecting truth”.

“Admiring Truth”—”singing the love songs” rather than bending one’s knee in submission to them……is not a safe place to be. Avoid all such men and women. “Have nothing to do with them.”
