Binding the Strong Man?

5/4/1994

Hey... (about your question about your workplace, and binding the strongman: while he is “strong,” here are some thoughts... : )

As always, we should embrace something (anything) with the same measure and frequency and emphasis as our Lord, and as the Apostolic choice vessels He handpicked. Since the evidence from the Holy Spirit’s Record is that there was little to no discussion or execution of such things (“binding and loosing”), we should not give it much credence. At least, as you already pointed out, in the common faddish way of today’s charismatic sector. HOWEVER, the same principles certainly do apply—it’s just that the Carpenter and His Men handled it all in a very ORGANIC way. As Jesus taught us to pray to His Father, practically, and so we should. The religious medicine man stuff is not the real thing. Real conversation with Abba about it all, and letting Him direct your steps, case by case by case by case... that’s the Way of the Carpenter, and His Men.

I just want to repeat a thought that helps guide our Path here and forever more: We should embrace something (anything) with the same measure and frequency and emphasis as our Lord, and as the Apostolic vessels He handpicked. If it is mentioned and executed with frequency, in a particular way then it is for real. If “it” is mentioned in passing, or if “it” occurred spontaneously or sporadically, then we should not fix our eyes on it as a Principle, but simply acknowledge it as AN illustration of AN application of a Principle. Again, we should embrace something (anything) with the same *measure* and *frequency* and *emphasis* as our Lord, and as the Apostolic choice vessels He handpicked.

All of that (and nothing you did not already know) to say, let’s very practically (I’ll help and ask others to do so also by copy of this—hope that is okay with you) ask the Father to show you how to make a difference there. If it is as Sodom, and all of Lot and Abraham’s grinding of soul over the corruption there is to no avail (God must Judge since they will not have a King over them to save and build), then perhaps He will send you elsewhere. If He wants you, like Jeremiah to spend twenty-three years in relative lack of “success,” then we’ll accept that and keep Working. If, like Nineveh, He intends revival, that would be most excellent. Let’s just all ask Him to show His Path, and remove the obstacles that His Work is hindered by and show us our part. It’s a Family thing.

Hope that makes sense?

Love,
