Come As You Are

5/16/1998

(an excerpt) “Just as i am, without one plea, but that Thy blood was shed for me... O Lamb of God, i come, i come.” This is exactly how we should relate to the Lord—coming to Him just as we are. If you are thinking that you have to reach a point where you are stronger in yourself to be accepted by God, then you have it all wrong. There is nothing in us that can stand before God. (Rom. 7:18) In fact, if we would seek to clean ourselves up on our own and come to Him with some merit in ourselves, He will remind us that our best efforts and righteousness are only filthy rags to Him. (Isa. 64:6) He’ll even see that we fail, to prove our neediness to others and to ourselves, lest any man boast. He is our only hope, our only strength. God only accepts and lives through one Person—His only begotten Son. Hide your life in Him, and everything else will take care of itself out of Love and Life. : ) 12:40 p.m.
