All Creation Groans

3/6/2005

I was pondering Father’s Creation recently. A soaring bird captured my attention, and then I lowered my gaze to scan an endless meadow….. I first thought of the raw and peaceful beauty. And then, I felt its loneliness. The grasslands, and the imposing woodlands in the distance, were lonely. They were not reveling in their “peace and quiet” and independence as some might imagine due to their own confused lives. The creation is not “enjoying its vacation” and glad to be “away” from people and God’s Work, for it’s own satisfaction. It is lonely. As the concrete forests of Sao Paulo or Beijing or New York cry out for Redemption and Fulfillment, so also the quiet meadows and the forests are lonely and discontent without a meaning and purpose that only the Chosen and the Bride have tasted to this moment……

“Even the creation itself groans in eager longing for redemption from futility and decay when the Sons of God are fully Transformed in His Revelation.” (Rom. 8)

He will have His Day. Be there.
