The Days of Noah

3/19/2024

speech bubble representing person 1 talking How bad can it get? It will.

Genesis 18:22-32. In a City-State called Sodom, a significant urban center in the fertile Jordan plain, a population center of about 15,000...

Not even TEN RIGHTEOUS MEN OR WOMEN could be found.

Look around. One out of 1500. Maybe not even that. Filth will be rampant.

speech bubble representing person 2 talking This makes me think of how Important and Crucial it is to Teach the children how to See with God’s eyes the things they ARE going to see. Teaching them HOW to Think, HOW to respond. Train, not “white-out.” (Using wisdom, of course. I don’t mean at all that “anything goes and we’ll just talk about anything.” Timing and Wisdom and Discernment for sure. And some things just are obviously off-limits.)

3/29/24

speech bubble representing person 1 talking Of course religion has botched everything up terribly, but I don’t mind remembering that this is...

“the day the Music died.” (the day Jesus died)

But now, instead of solemn quiet, or static and noise, The Solo has instead become a Worldwide Orchestra, a Symphony, “playing the SONRISE!”

BORN for These Times :)
10/25/2010

“We were BORN for these times!”

Yesterday I was listening to the “Focus on the Family” story of William Wilberforce. This part really stood out to me...

Wilberforce’s friend, William Pitt, comes to tell him that Pitt has just been named the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Wilberforce says to him, “Are you up for it? These are volatile times.” Pitt replies, “Do you not realize?! We were BORN for these times!”

Couldn’t help but think of how we too were BORN for these “volatile times.”

“For such a time as THIS!!” :)

—sabeth 12:01 p.m.

speech bubble representing person 1 talking That IS encouraging. Sometimes I don’t feel up for the stress and strife and emotional turmoil that may be upon us. But it is totally true! Our Great Architect could have chosen I be born in so many different generations but He chose now, in these last times. That gives me confidence that He knows I’m up for it ;)

I was BORN for these volatile times :)

speech bubble representing person 1 talkingDon’t think it an accident that God has given us the most unique Thing in 2000 years, at the exact same time as a 100 year plague, at the exact same time as Sodom and Gomorrah and the Days of Noah climaxing again. And race riots. And Israel war.

NOT an accident we’re Here.

speech bubble representing person 4 talking We won’t treat it like one!

speech bubble representing person 3 talking Yes! Not an accident... and our life here together is not a pastime!

speech bubble representing person 5 talking Remember “True Hope for a New Millennium”? There was a strong warning about what was about to happen, but nobody listened. “Yeah but the house church movement... Yeah but the cell church movement... Yeah but praise and worship... Yeah but the discipleship movement...” I suppose there were some aspects of those things that God could have stood behind if he had chosen to, and certainly some individual people he could’ve stood behind. But he chose to let things take their course. And now it’s no longer a matter of, “Turn things around while there’s time.” We’re past that. We are moving into the next Phase, and surely it’s no accident that we are here.

11The [population of the] earth was corrupt [absolutely depraved--spiritually and morally putrid] in God’s sight, and the land was filled with violence [desecration, infringement, outrage, assault, and lust for power]. 12God looked on the earth and saw how debased and degenerate it was, for all humanity had corrupted their way on the earth and lost their true direction.

13God said to Noah, “I intend to make an end of all that lives...” (Genesis 6:11-13)

speech bubble representing person 1 talking What were the days of Noah?

Did God deliver—as a foreshadowing?

4/22/24

speech bubble representing person 6 talking I was reading the places where it talks about “the days of Noah.” I don’t know that I even fully understand the question yet, but this struck me as a clear summary.

“For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but threw them into hell and locked them up in chains in utter darkness, to be kept until the judgment, and if he did not spare the ancient world, but did protect Noah, a herald of righteousness, along with seven others, when God brought a flood on an ungodly world, and if he turned to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah when he condemned them to destruction, having appointed them to serve as an example to future generations of the ungodly, and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man in anguish over the debauched lifestyle of lawless men, (for while he lived among them day after day, that righteous man was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—if so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials, and to reserve the unrighteous for punishment at the day of judgment, especially those who indulge their fleshly desires and who despise authority. Brazen and insolent, they are not afraid to insult the glorious ones,” (2 Peter 2:4-10 NET)

I also found it encouraging how just in the choice of calling it “the days of Noah” instead of “the days of the great flood” or something else—that God is choosing to highlight the fact that He’s also offered a Rescue.

speech bubble representing person 7 talking Could part of it also be to tell us that the vast majority of people on this planet will be completely unaware that it is their last days? So don’t expect the world to be expecting punishment for their filth. Mostly they will think they can just keep going along “making merry” as they have been, in never-satisfied, ever-increasing wickedness.

“And they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”

And though we should be aware of the signs of the times, we won’t know either the exact day. So be ready and keep watch! “So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

Matthew 24

speech bubble representing person 4 talking It stood out to me too at the end of Genesis 6 and the beginning of 7 how specifically twice Noah’s complete obedience was mentioned. Genesis 6:22 “Noah did everything just as God commanded him.” Genesis 7:5 “And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him.”

4/23/24

speech bubble representing person 2 talking It struck me this morning that right after talking about “the days of Noah,” “the day the Son of Man is revealed,” “the days of Lot,” in Luke 17—the very next thing says, “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” (Luke 18:1 NIV)

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: ‘In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, “Grant me justice against my adversary.” For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, “Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!”’ And the Lord said, ‘Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, **when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?**’” (Luke 18:1-8 NIV)

Last night I came across this album. It’s from eight years ago but talking about things in Isaiah that haven’t been fulfilled yet, about “nations being startled,” “leaders understanding wisdom they couldn’t have known,” “My servant WILL succeed.” And the point being made that these things will happen **for those who BELIEVE!!** “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
