Do "Demographics" Affect God's People?
1/11/2009
demographics |demagrafiks| plural noun; statistical data relating to the population and particular groups within it: the demographics of book buyers.
In a world where even the laws of physics such as gravity, or laws of medicine such as “cancer” cannot hold us hostage, do “demographics” affect God’s People?
Consider that in 2008 “54% of marriage-aged women are single.” That is a recent demographic in this country.
Quiz: What does it mean when a demographic such as average age, or % of population of Islamic or Hindu or another religion—how does it change day-to-day life for disciples of Jesus Christ, or does it? Or % of population of a particular race, or national average income, or marriage % as above, or crime rate, or unemployment %, or another demographic—is superimposed in a society and culture over the top of God’s People?
Does it ALWAYS affect us? MUST it always affect us? Will it still often affect us? Think, ponder, pray.
Certainly, Father doesn’t break laws of Physics such as gravity every time we would like to walk on water. But He CAN, and we CAN in Him, right? All things are possible for him who believes! Where will we Stand?
