Drawing Closer Through Wind and Waves
8/5/2025
When stress arrives
Or strain is near,
In blinding triumph
Or failure’s fear
Let winds and waves
Of every storm
Draw moorings tight
Your faith transform.
For God remains
The Sovereign guide,
Complete In Him
Our hopes abide.
In the winds and the waves
Of every storm,
God remains master—
Turn to Him that Jesus may form.
We’re all too shallow
To yet serve Him well
Our best intentions
Are still childish and frail.
So steadily stand
With each rise and fall,
And with each test and disaster,
You’ll grow ever closer—
To our loving Master.
“Foxes have dens, and birds have nests. But the Son of Man has no safe place to rest His head” (Matthew 8:20). Oh, His hand is enough.
