Drawing Life From the Word

As we’ve been reading Psalm 119 together, I was reminded of the very first term of the New Covenant that we saw in Hebrews 8 last week:

“I will imprint My laws upon their minds, even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and engrave them upon their hearts.”

That must mean that the fascination and wonder and strength that David said he received when he pondered God’s ways and His commands, should be the experience of every child of God under this covenant! That inner experience of drawing Life from the word and ways of God is waiting for us, if we will nurture and feed it and protect it from being drowned out by “other things.”

Motivation to keep my mind simple and focused throughout the day and totally engaged whenever I read or listen to God’s word, which I want to be often... —DZ
