Driven By Accomplishment? Not!
“Many in this world are surrounded by opportunities for true and deep and vulnerable relationships in Christ—but are driven by accomplishment. ‘Accomplishment’ for God. ‘Accomplishment’ for themselves, which is often the same. Many are driven by what they can do, or what they can acquire. They are surrounded by opportunities for true and deep and vulnerable relationships in Christ, only for Him—but are driven by accomplishment. God is the opposite. Though surrounded by His accomplishments, He has given Himself away in relationship. Though not in need of interaction, He has chosen to pursue it. For God, giving Himself away is the goal, not accomplishment or recognition. Giving oneself away, regardless of reciprocation, reward, or ‘accomplishment’ is to find a way into God’s heart and mind. ‘Let this mind be in you, that was in Christ Jesus.’ ‘God IS love.’”
