National Survey: 3 out of 4 home buyers would give up their “dream home” in order to live in a neighborhood of quality neighbors and atmosphere.—CNN 10/05

The mathematical and scientific genius Blaise Pascal once declared, “There is a God-Shaped vacuum in every man’s heart.” He had rightly observed that man KNOWS he is incomplete without His God and Creator as an intimate part of his daily life and thoughts, his decisions and priorities, and his conversation. A vacuum cries out to be filled! Every man and woman is born with a deep longing to fill his heart with God, whether he has yet identified it, or not.

A corollary to Pascal’s theorem is this: “There is a Daily Together-Life, 1Cor.12-shaped-vacuum in every man’s heart.” 

Amongst those who have experienced enough of the enmity and selfishness and pride and gossip that the world has to offer, and have enough depth to have pondered the conundrum, have reached a conclusion, evidenced in this recent CNN survey.

Given a choice between 1) material objects and the “luxury” of a “dream home”—and 2) a neighborhood where peace and love reign, where their children are safe and with quality people and friends at all times, where self-lessness is evident in daily service and kindness, where gossip and malice and pride and jealousy have no place—there is no contest, even amongst the unSaved, nonSpirit-Life inhabitants of earth. They KNOW! There is a “LIFE-shaped vacuum” longing to be filled in every man’s heart. GOD’S way is, Biblically, a Church that the gates of Hell cannot prevail against, “counting none of their possessions as their own,” “no needy persons among them,” “joined and knit together by every supporting ligament,” “though many, are ONE.” Even unRegenerate men and women LONG for, and would sacrifice even their materialistic “dreams,” to acquire what GOD says HIS Church is. Daily Together-Life. Acts 2:42-47, Luke 9:23-24, 57-62, 1Cor.12. It’s just Right. : )
