Would You Follow a "Plumber"?
9/20/2021
Jesus was a PLUMBER. Or the equivalent in his day.
Be honest: how would you have taken that, if you had to evaluate “trashing” the rest of your life to trust a plumber with no education - a plumber who claimed to be God, and the fulfillment of 1500 years of prophecies?
God set it up so that the ONLY possible answer of “how could you trust a PLUMBER with your life choices, family, relationships, job… everything...” would be if you were really listening with the ears of your heart, and seeing with the eyes of your heart. There would be no other way you could follow and sacrifice everything for this guy.
VERY cool.
For further clarity of why I chose “plumber” instead of just going with carpenter:
“Carpenter” sounds so poetic to our Bible-trained ears. And frankly TODAY most people would barely ever hire a carpenter for anything. In today’s world a Carpenter frames a house long before a typical family ever moves in. They don’t hire, today, a carpenter to make a table or a chair. That’s what stores are for. A plumber on the other hand is a closer equivalent to what Jesus was then - since in Jesus’ day a Carpenter was an everyday maintenance guy - just as a plumber is now for us.
