Run, Run, Run!
"Run, Run, Run!" aka "Let's Go Out in Flames, Darlin'!"
9/29/2015
Verse 1--
Don't waste this time
Put it all on the line
No weak candles in the darkness
Rather, torches blazing in the night
I know you're weary
And I know you're tired
But Jesus faced that too and so much more
Besides, it's what we signed up for
So just
Chorus--
Go until you're used up
Worn out
Bruised and spent
And you just wanna stop
But don't quit now, keep on going
all the way to the top
Ever onward
Nothing held back
Give your all
Until we're done
Keep your eyes on the Son
And darling, run run run
Run run run
Don't get tripped up by the stuff of earth
Cause there's no time to play around
Our king is coming back soon
At the the trumpet sound
No conserving
No avoiding
Hardship and the coming rain
Laugh out loud through the pain
And let's go out in flames
Out in flames
Verse 2--
Do the work in front of you
And quit whining 'bout what you've been given to do
Undistracted, never wavering
Always keeping Jesus in view
I know you're strength is fading
And I know you're worn
But Jesus faced that too and so much more
Besides, it's what we signed up for
So just
Chorus--
Go until you're used up
Worn out
Bruised and spent
And you just wanna stop
But don't quit now, keep on going
all the way to the top
Ever onward
Nothing held back
Give your all
Until we're done
Keep your eyes on the Son
And darlin run run run
Run run run
And don't get tripped up by the stuff of earth
Cause there's no time to play around
Our king is coming back soon
At the the trumpet sound
No conserving
No avoiding
Hardship and the coming rain
laugh out loud through the pain
And let's go out in flames
Out in flames
So, run run run
Run run run
Bridge--
I know you're not brave
Well guess what, I'm not either
But if we're truly dead to who we are
then we've got nothing left to lose
Chorus--
So, go until you're used up
Worn out
Bruised and spent
And you just wanna stop
But don't quit now, keep on going
all the way to the top
Ever onward
Nothing held back
Give your all
Until we're done
Keep your eyes on the Son
And darlin run run run
Run run run
And don't get tripped up by the stuff of earth
Cause there's no time to play around
Our king is coming back soon
At the the trumpet sound
No conserving
No avoiding
Hardship and the coming rain
laugh out loud through the pain
And let's go out in flames
Out in flames
So, run run!

Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
Think of all the hostility he endured.
