(Inspired by time on the lake, reflections of some of His Words, with the trees in fall splendor, surrounded by jazz and symphonic gifts)
10/31/2005
Cool air on our faces; a blue dome so bright
Trees of gold and orange in autumn’s sunlight
A rainbow of sounds floats on the breeze
Toe-thumping jazz and graceful melodies
We smile and nod at the young ones so sweet,
We know how they’ve prepared—
And now, what a treat!
The volume’s turned up when the jazzers come
They make us laugh with bob and beat fun
And all this so wonderful is only a picture
Of real notes and sounds
Made by brother and sister
The Musicians within and those that surround,
Each life is a facet of the Orchestra’s sound
A thousand notes will ring out every day
Are they tuned to the Master’s—the only true A?
If so, they will be harmonies of delight
If dissonant they are, chords of fright!
But our Conductor is faithful—and patient, too!
He’ll work with each one ‘til the melody’s true!
Then His Opus we’ll be
His Song, in us, set free!
