How Far?

How far is “EAST from WEST”? How far is “FAR”? How high is “HIGH”? How deep is “DEEP”? How wide is “WIDE”? How long is “LONG”? How great is “GREAT”? Thinking about how GREAT our God is, I was reminded of some things about the nature of the physical universe He shaped with His hands...If you could travel in space at the speed of light, it would take you over four years just to reach the next closest star. If you kept going, you could see a few more stars in your 70-year lifetime. However, you’d have to travel about 100,000 years at the speed of light just to cross to the other side of the Milky Way Galaxy. And of course you realize, our galaxy is just a “dot on a speck” in the vastness of space. If you wanted to leave our “neighborhood” of galaxies, you’d have to travel something like 100 million light years... and that’s just our “neighborhood”! Our galaxy is just one among zillions of other galaxies in the universe. And to reach the edge of the universe? But, oh, forget the stars. The point is to ponder the VASTNESS of the ONE who created them... to mine the depths, the riches, the heights, the treasures of GOD HIMSELF!! Sooooo, from the UNIVERSE Creator’s perspective, remember how far “EAST from WEST” is. How far “FAR” is. How high “HIGH” is. How deep “DEEP” is. How wide “WIDE” is. How long “LONG” is. How great “GREAT” is. Eph. 3:17-19 And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God. How far will I choose to go with HIM? How deep, how wide, how high?! The “sky” is the limit! WOW! :) Is ANYTHING too difficult for HIM?!
