It Never Was About Me :)

I was listening to this song about David today…and a different part caught my ear: “it never was about me and who I hoped to be”. It rang true that all these things that are listed of what David did or what happened to him really didn’t matter much to him. He knew it wasn’t about him. He was living for God…to love and obey God and worship His Sovereign Lord. He wasn’t in it for himself. So, he could have said that it wasn’t about the oil or getting praise because he wasn’t living for that. it wasn’t about him. It was about the Living God and His Kingdom. I was thinking, that’s why David was a man after God’s own heart. : ) I wanna be that way too : )
