Jesus — the PROPHECY of our Righteousness!

“Christ is the prophecy of our righteousness as well as the sacrifice for our sins.”

As we clear the rubble of self-life, so that God can build Jesus’ life into us, here are some of the character-traits He is building in us. Cooperate, yield, and settle for nothing less than these which describe the life of Jesus and your own future, if He lives in you. Ponder each one. Ponder how different his Character is from the natural self. Consider examples from the scriptures as well as your own experience of Him and those in whom He dwells. Christ is the prophecy of our righteousness:

His humility

His courage

His gentleness

His invincible integrity

His abhorrence of sin

His mercy for the penitent

His delight in the righteousness of others

His patience for their infirmities

The quiet submission with which He endured His own sufferings

His compassion for the sufferings of others

His indifference to ease and wealth and honor

His passion for the salvation of men from all their sins and all their sorrows

His perfect faith in the Father

His perfect loyalty to the Father’s authority

His delight in doing the Father’s will

His zeal for the Father’s glory
