Learn to Listen For His Overtures Towards You

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, with loving-kindness I have drawn you” (Jer. 31:3). The word for draw is “helkuo” and might be best translated as “a gentle inner persuasion.” It is something in you that attracts and persuades you towards Jesus and the things precious to Him. Reread the verse above, pretty please? Then, learn to LISTEN in your heart and spirit for His overtures towards you, His speaking to you—gentle persuasions of love that draw our hearts to Him.
