A "Mark" of Jesus Within

“Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:13-14
A “mark” of Jesus within, always—when unhindered, says Jesus. Read John 4:13-14 in different translations, and Dive In to all of it!
Looking at the Mountain Dew [referenced in the He Is All You'll Ever Need (“If you were GENUINELY convinced that if you didn’t HAVE a STEADY supply of Mountain Dew, **how would that affect your thinking, your moods, your relationships??** Wouldn’t your fear of NOT HAVING WHAT YOU “NEED” affect everything else negatively, UNNECESSARILY?“) and in light of the John 4 invitation above] from a different angle... Do I view my Dependence on Jesus, my Connection to Jesus, my morning Manna from His Hand, my Eating and Drinking of Jesus, with that same “addiction-level” fervor? While He is not an addiction, with all its self-centeredness, He is truly my Greatest Friend, Need, and Asset to actually love and build in the relationships around me, or to do ANYTHING Real and Lasting. Jesus says... “Apart from Me, you can do NOTHING.” “I’m telling you the Truth (what is really Real): Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” I must actually Drink from His Living Water consciously and consistently, and that will overflow to others.
I wondered if there was maybe some significance in it being *Jacobs* well.... some notes I was writing down.
The well that Jacob had to draw from was God’s multiplied, endless blessing and enduring touch (and limp) on his life. Yet it left Jacob still hungry for more - I won’t let you go until you bless me! Yet He didn’t reveal His name to Him. “Why do you ask my name?” “He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel.” His word and laws, but not Himself.
The new water is eternal life of intimacy with the Father and His Son rushing up from within, rather than just upon us. Not something I have to keep pulling up out of the well, but a flow to surrender to and be caught up in. Where I lose my identity. If I find myself frantically grasping and thirsting for more, perhaps I am drawing from the well for “blessing” rather than diving into, living in, and drinking of the spring? Eternal Life!
