O Jesus, our Hero, please train us to fight,

to break through hell’s strongholds and conquer its might!

Our enemy hates us. His rage has been stirred.

Oh, make us a disciplined Army of Light!

In quiet and prayer we must feed on Your Word

or the Fire will be quenched and the Vision grow blurred.

Oh, teach us dependence and slow down our haste

so Your Heart can be known and Your Whispers be heard.

Now moment by moment please show us Your Face

and welcome our hearts to the Holiest Place.

Inspire us to choose a life hidden in You,

to fill up each crevice of time with Your Grace.

Please give us a message both gracious and true,

and teach us to thirst for men’s souls as You do.

Though men crucified You, still let them be drawn

by the Light of Your Life demonstrated anew.

Oh, morning by morning please greet us at dawn

and be our Companion till daylight is gone.

Let each waking moment be holy each night

as our eyes turn up to find Yours looking on.
