Pain: A Higher View
Could You Pray?

Would appreciate if you could pray for our daughter. She’s having some dental work done and is a bit worried about it.

Neal, we sure will pray..... I’ve always tried to use sleepless nights, illness, and things such as pulled teeth and braces to “share in the fellowship of His sufferings,” and try to identify a bit better with what Jesus did for me. I’ve expected, in those times of pain, the same courage and poise of myself that I would hope to have if someone was pointing a gun to my head and ordering me to say something unkind about Jesus or His Bride, or to water down His Truths. And I would always like to do better next time, so I don’t so much “dread” the next time. Maybe if she were to view it as “training” and “opportunity” (an Olympic runner INTENTIONALLY “hurts himself” a thousand times before the Olympic event takes place—as training), she could take the higher view of it all—in this case and the many such opportunities that life presents.
IF you feel like passing on these thoughts, they have always been helpful to me and to others. And let her know that she has others, in a far away place as earthlings measure, praying for her.... : )
In His Love, mike and many
