Philippians 3:8

Hi…i read this verse this morning and thought it was very Good in causing me to focus on what it is that i really want in Life: knowing, being close to and becoming like Jesus. Specifically, it has helped me several times today when that temptation to “desire” things or events comes along, to recalibrate and truly consider all things a loss in comparison to the Opportunity to know God. I thought maybe y’all would enjoy it, too. : )

“Yes, furthermore, i count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege, the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly. For His sake i have lost everything [i actively choose not to claim a right or hang on to anything] and consider it all to be mere rubbish, refuse, dregs in order that i may win Christ the Anointed One.”
