Philosophical "church" Quote

6/23/2009

“It seems that most people think that Darfur, Iran, and North Korea and other countries in the ‘community of Nations’ are expected to behave in a way that respects their own people and other nations, and obeys international expectations of morality, human rights, and behavior towards others.

“Why is it then that any such expectations of ‘christians’ in a ‘church’ to obey Jesus’ Commands and love and respect others (in keeping with the Teachings of the Bible) are considered unreasonable, impossible, and legal-istic? Hands off!

“Somehow the Teachings of Jesus are somehow viewed as optional—and subject to personal interpretation, and willful intentional personal neglect. But in the community of world nations, it is valid to protest with consequences the persistent destructive, selfish, immoral behavior that is harming others? That, of course, makes no sense. The lesser kingdoms of this world know ‘better’ than the Kingdom of Heaven? It must not be so.”
