Pitching Our Crowns at His Feet

Pitching our crowns, awards, titles, degrees, bragging rights of who or what we think we know...

They cast their crowns before the throne... saying,
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.” (Rev.4:11)

They “cast their crowns”—throwing their awards and human symbols down at the foot of God’s throne?

Well, duh yeah! What good are men’s crowns, anyway?!

After a recent outgoing presidential administration, one newscaster commented, “before they leave office they are giving each other medals.”

What does that even MEAN when we give each other praise and crowns and awards?!

“All men are as grass.”

Pride, ambition, jealousy, judgment, and fear of men are silliness.

We all are nothing, except when Loved. If we’re honest about ourselves, it doesn’t take much effort to realize “we ain’t all that” anyway. But, it doesn’t matter—if we’re Loved.

Wearing a crown, title, badge, uniform, medal, or authority awarded by grass, mere humans—means nothing. As Jesus said to Pilate, any awards or power men give one another are granted by the Father—or could not be at all. Also true even regarding our next heartbeat.

We need a Deliverer.

We are the Deliverable.

That’ll do. :)
