Remember Lot's Wife
No Turning Back
5/16/2024
“In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise, the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.” **Remember Lot’s wife.** Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
We get a choice of whether to keep walking away from the world, or like Lot’s wife, decide to indulge ourselves and comfort ourselves with the world again.
2 Timothy 4:10 “for Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica.”
Someone who pretends to leave the world for Jesus but—like Lot’s wife—keeps looking back is simply an empty vessel. You have a choice. “Though none go with me, still I will follow.” Instead of “what can I get away with?” or “Yeah but theyyyyyyy”—why not instead fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector, and refuse to look back?
