Salvation and Loving the Light

3/20/2001

Below is a response to a letter where someone was only wanting to “discuss” things, and not get to know the Author of Life. Among other things, the question was asked,“Do you believe that a true believer will sin after he becomes a Christian? And if he sins, and he dies before he repents of that sin, will he go to heaven?”

I kinda get the idea that you are happy with the religious world “as is” and we really don’t have any desire to battle over words. So, let’s just make it really clear that we do NOT believe in ‘justification or salvation by dead works.’ Nor is True Salvation found by ‘accurate belief system’ and ‘magic words’ any more than it is by ‘behavior modification.’ Salvation is by burying our lives and all our trust in the Blood of Jesus. Salvation is a free gift to those who will bury all of their trust in Jesus Alone—not add Him to their own ambitions and agendas and lifestyles (with their trust still in THEMSELVES for their decisions). The forgiveness of all sins, now and forever more, is a FREE GIFT to those who TRULY put their trust in Him. Biblically defined FAITH in Jesus. Period. Free Gift, lest any man boast.

And of COURSE sin happens! But only one that is unsaved and therefore without the deposit of the Holy Spirit can ‘continue in sin’ without conscience or power over it, according to the apostles John and Paul, as well as James. This inability or unwillingness to care about sin, or deal with it, is, according to God one of the many signs listed in 1John and elsewhere—that one had a false conversion in the first place. BUT, sin of COURSE can and will on occasion still happen. The Scriptures are clear: it is not whether it CAN happen, but what happens NEXT—that is evidence of whether the ‘deposit that guarantees our Inheritance’ has come to abide as Proof of legitimate conversion.

‘MANY will say Lord, Lord—that NEVER knew Him.’ How can one distinguish between weakness and immaturity (sin), versus the false Christians that Jesus said would abound? 1Peter 4:1-2; 1John 3:4-10; 1John 5:18 are all very clear! Not that ‘sin’ cannot ‘easily beset’—but we cannot IGNORE or DEFEND or CONTINUE in sin, IF the Holy Spirit TRULY lives within! We ‘Love the Light’ and ‘Love the Truth, and so are saved.’ (John3, 2Thes.2)

SO, yes, we will ‘fall short of His Glory’ from time to time. And the Blood of Jesus is not something that ‘comes and goes’ depending on whether we’ve said some magic words to make Him forgive us. That is ridiculous. God DID say, ‘IF we confess, He will forgive’—yet the overall context is related to ‘walking in the Light’ of exposure and fellowship and love of the Light—not salvation by saying magic words on our deathbed. It is the BLOOD of Jesus, and our HEART towards Him by His Spirit, not our words that save us. ‘MANY will say Lord, Lord’ and have PLENTY of words about it all. But ‘the Kingdom of God consists NOT of mere words’—whether words of ‘last second confessions’ that our salvation is dependent upon (NO WAY!)——or the magic words of ‘Lord, Lord’ from those that are so engrossed in their comfortable, cultural, tradition-based fake, disobedient forms of christianity, and will not CHANGE to ‘do the Will of the Father.’

Clearly, ‘MANY’ of those who do not have the Holy Spirit, according to Jesus and His Messengers, have never REALLY buried their lives in total trust of the Blood and Spirit and Words of the Messiah (1John 5:6-11). God said, ‘the Proof is in the fruit of My Deposit.’ That is the ‘Good News of Jesus’ and the only beginning place of the ‘Good News of the Kingdom’ and His Church. Any ‘Church’ that does not build on these Truths is only a club, at best (with a few Christians present, no doubt—the ‘10% committed nucleus’ or something like that). And such a ‘church’ is a deceptive substitute for Reality and killer of babes, in many cases—with their ‘traditions of men that nullify the very Word of God’ and their ‘meetings do more harm than good’ because their lives are so disconnected and self-centered.

Nothing much more to say, really… So, rather than argue, let’s just drop it and you can pretend you have never met us. There’s SO much to do and so little time…so let’s not fight. Do what you desire to do about all of this, and we’ll pray that God will advance what is His and that “everything that can be shaken (things of earth about heaven, but not OF Heaven), will be shaken.’ We PROMISE, we weren’t ever trying to pick a fight or get into a debate of any kind! Bye!

Love,
