Saying "No!" to the Pinocchio Nose and Satan’s Antenna
5/10/2024
Someone recently asked for a definition of the word “cahoots,” as in satan and your flesh are in cahoots.
Look at it this way: satan would much rather tempt us from the inside, rather than only from the outside. Your flesh wants to communicate with satan, be in cahoots, a partner. Your spirit wants to be in communion with its Maker, on earth as it is in heaven.
Like Pinocchio’s nose, your antenna to pick up satan’s voice and satan’s reasoning, grows when you allow and justify your motor and radio to run unabated. The spirit and flesh wage war with one another. The living and active word of God divides between soul and spirit. If you actively listen to satan’s reasoning, something you know Jesus would never say or do, and then justify it, then your antenna for satan’s voice grows like Pinocchio’s nose. You become more and more a vessel for satan—reacting, running your mouth, making bad decisions, being depressed, being angry, being bitter, being jealous, being lazy—all things Jesus is not but satan wants you to be.
The more you give in to listening to a voice you know cannot possibly be Jesus, and acting in a way you know cannot possibly be Jesus, the more you are feeding the enemies’ strength over you, growing your satan antenna rather than your Jesus antenna.
You can’t have both. You run on satan’s fuel or you run on Jesus’ oil, but you can’t do both. Freshwater and saltwater cannot come from the same spring.
Let Jesus, God’s Word, divide between soul and spirit! When Jesus said the prince of this world has come, but he has nothing “in” me, he was saying that because He never tolerated a satan voice, he never grew a satan antenna. All temptation came from the outside rather than feeling like it was coming from the inside, for him. He never gave satan an inch by listening to the radio or running the motor. We can do the same.
(“Radio” = our spinning, chattering, analytical noisy thoughts that are not of Christ -- our radio of self-indulgence, self-justification, accusation and judgment, mopey, looping, fantasies, comparison, pride, fears, and more.)
So, what to do? Every time you weigh a feeling or mood or thought, ask yourself could Jesus possibly be saying this or would he be feeling this? “Woe is me I don’t know if I can do this.” Seriously, you think Jesus would say that? Or feel that? Then reject it! And guess what? Satan’s antenna shrinks. Keep testing how you feel and the thoughts that flop around in your brain by whether it is something Jesus would say or think or feel. If not—Reject it with prejudice. And satan’s antenna shrinks. As you continue that process, you will begin to feel the temptation is from the outside and no longer part of you and from the inside. The prince of this world has come but he has nothing IN me. That’s what you do!
2 Corinthians 3:18 comes alive at this point.
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Keep in mind that Pinocchio’s nose took a long time to grow to its current Mammoth length. You’ll need to chip away at shrinking it and not expect instantaneous results. But don’t stop for a second and let it go the other way!
Shine, Jesus, Shine
Lord, the light of your love is shining
In the midst of the darkness shining
Jesus, light of the world, shine upon us
Set us free by the truth you now bring us
Shine on me, shine on me
Shine, Jesus, shine!
Fill this land with the Father’s Glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze! Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow!
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your Word, Lord
And let there be light
Lord, I come to Your awesome presence
From the shadows, into your radiance
By your blood I may enter your brightness
Search me, try me, consume all my darkness
Shine on me, shine on me
As we gaze on Your Kingly brightness
So our faces display your likeness
Ever changing from Glory to Glory
Mirrored here may our lives tell Your story
Shine on me, shine on me
DO YOU GET THE CORRELATION???!!
We so want to think of it as “God will take over and just blow away everything and his life and word will just flow through the streets and change everything.” To some extent that’s true, but the platform to do all of that is us! The spirit and the bride say come! Our willingness to be filled with oil and listen only to His voice and discern easily stupid radio and stupid motors that are not fueled by His Spirit but by the enemy and reject those... That’s the platform!
And we all, with unveiled faces SHINING the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of HOLY SHININESS to another, which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
“Give Me a lever and a place to stand and I will move the world.”

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12
I have been thinking of this scripture a lot recently. Are we the soul (like the part that has the potential of being redeemed and that God loved and wanted to save) and the spirit is either the evil or Holy Spirit that we allow to have control in our thoughts and actions? So the word of God dividing between the two can show us what is our personality and uniqueness of our soul that is what God loves vs what is just not Jesus’ Spirit reigning in an area?
Our soul is what makes us unique from every other person ever born. It includes our mind, our personality, and so much more. To “save our soul” is to deliver our soul from the laws of sin and death. Our spirit is the part that was made to commune with God, that began when God breathed “life” into Adam. We were born of earth and of heaven. By Design. There’s nothing wrong with our souls innately, but they can be trained either by neglect or by consciously yielding to the spirit of God—to become Spirit-men—like the second Adam, Yesu, Yeshua, Jesus.
