Renewing Our Minds About the Sin of Worry - and the Life of Faith

Dear Family,

It seemed timely for us to be reminded about the sin of worry. God’s word is very clear about the subject, but I believe that our minds need to be renewed anyway. When you live on a fallen planet, there is no shortage of external circumstances that could tempt you with anxiety and worry. The “signs of the times” also point to the likelihood of greater temptations in the coming months and years. It’s crucial, then, that we lay God’s standard of Faith and Trust firmly in our hearts. We must purposefully decide to be people who worship, express thanks, rejoice, hope, pray, and love in any circumstance. No excuses, even if the topic we are worrying about seems legitimate or even “spiritual.” Especially no excuses then! Our role in the coming years will require sound minds and settled spirits.

Listed below are some things the Bible says about the issue of worry, then a small sampling of precious resources to help us renew our minds. (Feel free to add to the list!) Will you personally take some time to delve into this topic over the next few days, turning your face to Father to talk with Him about what you see? When the Son of Man returns, let Him find faith in these hearts of ours!
