A Singing, Praying People

Can you imagine that first time we are aware of that God’s people decided to express themselves to each other and to God in a SONG together? What a powerful moment that must’ve been. Singing? Is that WEIRD? Or “religious”? Nope.
A Singing People, a Praying People—it is GOOD in the eyes of God: “On earth as it is in heaven!”
First in Heaven:
To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? (Job 38:7)
And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” (Rev. 4:8-11)
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:12-14)
And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. (Rev. 14:2-3)
Standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.” (Rev. 15:3-4)
****And we learned from those who See God’s Face to do the same!****
That first time we know of God’s Family singing together, “On earth as it is in heaven,” is not Abraham, the father who showed us to Find the One God—to give up all and sacrifice all as he did, out of our faith and abandonment to God.
But the first time we know of God’s family singing together was 500 years later—that same Song of Moses, sung in Heaven from Eternity past!
Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying: “I will sing to the LORD, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea! The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him. The LORD is a man of war; The LORD is His name.” (Exodus 15:1-21)
For the LORD will comfort His People, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of Melody. (Isa. 51-3)
****There’s no reference for 500 years of God’s people having a voice of Melody towards him, but that guy David, a man after God’s own heart, shows us the way now, “On earth as it is in heaven” — joining in Melody in one voice to him when we can. :-) ****
And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. (Matt. 26:30)
