Submission and Humility

Summary of an ongoing conversation...

Submission and humility from the heart is Jesus’ “better part” Plan, at His feet, with trust that He has things to get at in you, whether Job or David or Elijah or you or me. Shimei doesn’t have to be “nice” or “fair.” Nor is niceness a “requirement” for Abba to speak through or to anyone, working together for Good.

Needing intellectual “resolution” or “convincing” or “proof” or “logic” or “the NICE package”... IS THE WRONG TREE, and we are dead even while walking still—if we have to have that tree’s poison fruit.

HUMBLE
YOURSELVES
IN
THE
SIGHT
OF THE
LORD.

And He will lift you up.

It was true for Jesus. For David. For Job.

It’s GOD’s LANGUAGE!

Someone’s journal notes from a couple days later.

Abraham never saw in his lifetime descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky. He wasn’t being faith-filled until he got something. He was faith-full to God only—not an outcome. “All these were faithful, loyal, true when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting they were foreigners on earth just passing through.”

That means I don’t ever have to see a “reason” or a “why” to a thorn or trial. If I did, I would be playing God. I don’t have to see the big picture or how it’s being worked for the good. John in prison, Stephen stoned, Abraham’s sacrifice, Job’s rough days, David’s Shimei, and they never knew the reasons why but trusted the Orchestra Conductor. Loyal to you, Daddy, not to a desired end. Faithful to you until the end, not until I reach a specific outcome.

All these Hebrews 11 people were looking for God himself, Z-axis1 living, a home, a reward, and hope in heaven. They didn’t care if their physical eyes saw or didn’t see (calling things that are not as though they are) or their puny brains felt satisfied or not. They were all looking for the Z-axis and wouldn’t settle or go back to that xy country. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God; He has prepared a city for them.
