The "Problem" with Caring
6/27/2006
Thought provoked from a conversation yesterday morning while wrestling with another to go deeper and higher…
The “Problem” with Caring…
You ask me to push something…I can DO it…
You ask me to jump over that thing and I can TRY…
I can see it, approach it, and go around, under or through it…but when you ask me to CARE I come up empty…
WHY????
Because that comes from a place deep within that I can’t just DO…I’ve got to think, consider, ponder, pray about it. I’ve got to get outside of my own pathetic world and actually pay attention (which is more costly than gold). I’ve got to invest when maybe I don’t understand, I’ve got to be willing to be wrong and misunderstood. BUT Jesus loves people and they are NOT a thing to be done. They take time, energy, emotion, heart, sweat and tears, and you can’t push, pull, step over, around or run through them.
Each one has a face, a problem, a story…and the One who Loves them desperately lives in YOU…will you let Him CARE through you?
Let’s! : )
