The Science of IQs
3/9/2002
(An education note) A good thing to know, referred to in a book about Leonardo da Vinci. “In a recent statistical review of IQ studies, it was concluded that genes account for no more than forty-eight percent of IQ. Fifty-two percent is a function of prenatal care, environment, and education.” This being the case, the mother’s food, exercise, and environment prior to birth, the love and attention and sensory stimulation (sounds, sights, smells, touch) of the baby, and the environment, friendships and influences (young and old) and the learning opportunities of the child—these amount to 52% of the child’s Intelligence Quotient later in life: Interesting, eh? Of course GOD is Sovereign, and HE accounts for approximately 182% of the outcome of everything for those who love Him, but I still thought we could all find some encouragement and guidance from the “science” side of it. : ) 3:33 p.m.
