The Story of the Two Fields
3/27/2007
This is a story about two fields. In each field, thoughts were planted. There were two different types of thoughts. There were good thoughts, and there were bad thoughts. And each field was in control of what kinds of thoughts were allowed onto it. This was very important because every though planted a seed. Good thoughts planted productive seeds, but bad thoughts planted destructive seeds. The two fields are like two people. If a person is careful to think only productive thoughts, and block out harmful thoughts, then he is planting a crop that will produce good fruit. Even if a person thinks a bad thought, he can still turn it around and refuse that thought. And after a while...the seeds started to grow. And the field which chose good thoughts prospered, but the field which chose bad thoughts became overgrown with weeds. Because the field of bad thoughts was not bearing good fruit, it was burned. Jesus wants our hearts to be a beautiful place. But if Jesus is going to change us and make us who He wants us to be, we must position our hearts in a way that pleases Him. One way to do this is to think on the Pure and Holy things, the things of Jesus. What we choose to think about tells Jesus what is important to us. And if you really care about what God cares about, then He will show Himself to you, and He can make your heart new and beautiful! "If......you seek the LORD your God, you will find Him if you look for Him with all your heart and all your soul." Deuteronomy 4:29
