The Value Of a Soul
10/23/1997
“...what could you give in exchange for your soul?” (Matt. 16:26) How valuable do you consider your SOUL to be? Have you thought about it recently? If you owned a 1960 pristine corvette, or a 1998 Rolls Royce, would you put cheap gas or Coca-Cola in the tank? If you just got new carpeting in your house, would you intentionally drag your feet in black tar, then track around on the carpet? Would you carelessly and relentlessly insult and beat down your young daughter or son, showing them nothing but severity, stealing their hope? WE WOULD NOT DO ANY OF THESE THINGS!! Why? Because we don’t want to FOOLISHLY DESTROY these things. WHAT ABOUT OUR SOULS?? Shouldn’t we use GREAT care as to what we feed our souls? Shouldn’t we put much effort into caring for our spiritual LIVES? Investing in loving others, speaking with the FATHER, feeding on His words? Avoiding laziness, pride, and the other destroyers of Spiritual life? Make good Investments!! “A person could never pay enough to buy back his soul.” “Is anything worth more than your soul?” (Matt. 16:26) “What can a man offer as barter for his soul?” “What can a man use to buy his soul back?” Let’s do a good job of this today!! 9:55 a.m.
