The Z-axis "Mansion"

In My Father’s house are many “mansions” — μονή monē.

Twice in the NT, both in the same chapter.

If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our “home” with him.

Mansion? No.

It is a place, μονή, where something is supposed to be, where it abides, lives, where it finds meaning and expression.

On earth as it is in heaven. In heaven as it is on earth. Binding, loosing, belonging.

The “mansion” - the home - the drawer for our most treasured special things “on earth” is the Altar. Place them there, as “the father of OUR faith” Abraham did with Isaac. In Heaven as on earth. He did not react legalistically with Isaac, or religiously. He did not harden himself to his love for Isaac or ritualize some kind of sacrifice. He loved and trusted his God.

In Heaven as on earth. On earth as it is in heaven.

We must allow our most beautiful things “on earth” to abide in, belong in a drawer in heaven called “the Altar.”

That is a “Z-axis” “mansion” union to live in.
