1) Destructive thoughts drain our energy, steal the love out of our hearts, and draw our faces away from Jesus. 2) When we begin to have destructive thoughts not authored by, or pleasing to Jesus, or born of Him, we CAN renounce them and immediately thrust them OUT, leaving no trace of them to taint or taunt us. 3) When we do this, we see that these thoughts and feelings that are not from God have no power of their own, but fade when we no longer feed them consciously. 4) I, therefore, don’t have to go along with everything my mind comes up with. It’s NOT me, and it’s NOT who I am! It’s just a thought, deposited from the outside. “My enemy has done this!” said Jesus, regarding the planting of the seeds of weeds. “Whatever is pure and lovely and praiseworthy—think on THESE things!” (Phil. 4:8).
