To Him Who Overcomes!

WHERE the battle rages, at the POINT where the battle rages, THERE the loyalty of the soldier is proved

Martin Luther said: “If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God **except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are attacking,**…… I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved, and to be steady on all the battle field besides, is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point.”

I’m sure we can each think of a “point” or “topic” at which we have to believe, that though the devil is attacking, our God is Faithful and much stronger than all our enemies’ combined strength. Those who shrink back from the fight are destroyed but “to him who overcomes” … to him who overcomes … to him who overcomes. Think of all of the promises!

To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.

[I will let everyone who overcomes eat from the life-giving tree in God’s wonderful garden.]

To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give each one a white stone with a new name written on it. No one will know that name except the one who is given the stone.

For he who overcomes and keeps on obeying me until the end, I will give power over the nations and will give each of them the same power that my Father has given me; and I will give him the morning star.

…will be made into a pillar in the temple of my God, and they will stay there forever. I will write on each of them the name of my God and the name of his city. It is the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from my God. I will also write on them my own new name.

…will be dressed in white clothes. And I will not erase their names from the book of life, but I will say they belong to me before my Father and before his angels.

…will sit with me on my throne in the same way that I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

So! Isn’t it WORTH it?!?!?!?!?! : )
