Unbelief: By Decision OR by Wandering
Unbelief is living like God is not always God or not always good. How do we get ourselves into this state of unbelief?
Some people consciously and intentionally refuse to believe that God is real. They choose to reject the authority of God and the goodness of His character in exercising that authority.
Others, by doing what Paul described, "wander away from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith." Wandering is not a conscious decision. Instead, little by little, by being sloppy, or lazy, or distracted, we can "accidentally" get ourselves to exactly the same place as a conscious decision to reject God.
How do we avoid this? We must be abandoned to a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.
