Holy Spirit, We Long For More
1/25/2022
A conversation this morning:
“Holy Spirit, you have been an amazzzzing companion all of these years. I only wish I had listened better FOR you, and listened better TO you.
“But, you already knew that—that I wish I had, and want to still. The real bummer would have been if instead, you knew that I hadn’t all along longed for that MORE.
“But you know I’m not lying when I say I have, and I do! Somehow, I think that matters to you ALMOST as much as if I had been perfect listening FOR you, and listening TO you. I and WE want that more than anything. And you have always known that is true for Us, your Family.”
If you are one who tends primarily only to listen to your own thoughts, your own voice, your own desires—and do not listen for or to the Holy Spirit much or ever... PUT THAT RABID DOG *DOWN*—KILL IT, IMMEDIATELY. Please. For your own sake, as well as those around you and your children and children’s children.
“Holy Spirit you are welcome in this place. Omnipotent Father of Mercy and Grace. You are welcome in this place!”
May our thoughts and words and actions scream “You are welcome in this place!!”
“I need thee, oh I need thee, every hour I need thee.”
Whoever wrote this left far too much unaccounted for time. :)
Every second, every breath, every heartbeat, and all the space in between. Ohh, I NEED Thee!
A better song:
There will come a day
I know without a doubt
And lay down every crown
How glorious that moment
To see Him face to face
To hear Him say “well done my child“
You’ve finished your race
But for now the sun’s still rising
There’s work to still be done
While we’re waiting for the promise
Of what is yet to come
Finish well
Every day that we are given
Finish well
For the glory of His name
Finish strong
Until the Savior finally calls us home
Give it everything we have
Finish well
There’s no truth in saying
We’ve seen our better days
These are the days to be courageous
Bold and full of faith
So wherever He may lead us
Whatever it may cost
Let the Church arise and lift
The banner of the cross
Finish well
Every day that we are given
Finish well
For the glory of His name
Finish strong
Until the Savior finally calls us home
Give it everything we have
Finish well every day that
We are given
Finish well
For the glory of His name
Finish well
Finish well
Finish well
Finish weeeeeell...
