Wisdom Testifies of God and His Kingdom
If I ever thought (and I did) that we were living in somewhat inferior times because God was not “emphasizing with miracles” that the Kingdom of God was among men, I don’t anymore. As a matter of fact, after a recent conversation with another, I’ve been “bouncing off the ceiling” with excitement that God IS “emphasizing” that the Kingdom is here, but through His WISDOM. “...I have a greater witness than John—my TEACHINGS and my MIRACLES. They have been assigned to me by the Father, and they testify that the Father has sent me.” (Jn. 5:36-37) God’s testimony through Jesus was with TEACHINGS and MIRACLES. The “and” making them of equal importance. “Miracles” are nothing more than the natural laws being transcended by something from another realm. MIRACLES defy the natural laws. WISDOM defies man’s logic and intellect. “How does this man have such great learning without having studied?” (Jn. 7:15) Wisdom stops you in your tracks. It wows you! It’s, “Where did that come from? You didn’t read that or hear that anywhere...” A miracle is an end in itself, but wisdom is a seed that can travel across land and sea. It is contagious. It is from another galaxy. John did no miracles. God chose to demonstrate the point in a different way. He wanted men to reject Him based on God’s teaching from Heaven, not miracles. I’m excited that God IS EMPHASIZING to men TODAY that the Kingdom of God IS among them by His WISDOM. —lc 10:29 a.m.
