"Work This Into Your Molecules"

These are the notes a teen wrote down after asking an “out of the blue” question. : ) These are his impressions and memory (and exact notes) of the “off the cuff” spontaneous conversation with two or three dozen brothers at a Pizza place for lunch a few days ago…

FAITH ; )

Prayer, holiness, relationships, etc…ANY topic of Christianity: it all boils down to faith. “May it be done unto you according to your…” not strengths, or power, or commitment, or knowledge…all of that is meaningless. “Faith!” NOTHING ELSE MATTERS or has any weight in relation to anything.

Like, does prayer “work”? “I didn’t get the results I wanted…” IF doubting GOD or PRAYER or anything else IS EVEN POSSIBLE, if deciding whether i believe GOD or whether it “worked,” if that’s even a POSSIBLE QUESTION…then I’m building on the wrong foundation and it’s all about me. It’s NOT FAITH, and the most I’ll ever be is religious and predictable and useless. I’m not testing prayer or _____, God’s testing me! God’s testing to see whether or not i am one in whom He can invest His TREASURES, accomplish his will and work miracles!!

Embrace Truth (the PERSON), not Experiences. If I think that my experiences, knowledge, “this is how things always work,” limiting God or myself or others, analyzing, or cleverness are ANYTHING to build on…well, I NEED TO GET OUT MORE!! No one is the strongest and has his act all together and everything figured out! You need to get out and see that you aren’t so hot!

I MUST overcome “believe it when you see it” which is the NATURE of humanity. That’s the opposite of how it works in the Kingdom: “See it when you believe it!!” That’s reassuring and beautiful. Limitless opportunities! Embrace Truth (the PERSON), not Experiences. People, by nature, are grabbers. We need to GIVE UP all, to be transformed, instead of just being “religious” and never having anything supernatural happen that WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED otherwise!

People who try to get away with as little as possible, and risk nothing, and want to not have faith (going out on a limb and deciding to DEPEND on God, so that if He doesn’t come through, I’m done for!), and OBEY!! will live in poverty with predictable, earthly, faithless lives. Perhaps saved, but without the “Power of an Indestructible Life” welling up within their veins. Those are people who know their Bibles right and left and it means NOTHING.

If I get all busy grabbing and deciding and analyzing and managing, all this horizontal stuff…grasping toward and distracted by and entangled in the affairs of the seen world…I’ll miss Jesus and His PURPOSES for my LIFE! Who cares about all that stuff? Just take a deep breath and fix your eyes on the Invisible One. Otherwise I won’t be connected and won’t be living a faith-filled kind of life, and Jesus won’t be able to work any miracles or change in me.

Work this into your molecules, into your DNA. Build on FAITH every time! And you’ll be amazed where it’ll take you. You’ll find yourself (and this is the only way!!) smack dab in the middle of God’s purposes for your life. And remember, I’m ahead of schedule : ). I have a lot to be thankful for. I’ve been given MUCH. So don’t slow down or take my time. Work it into my molecules, and VIEW EVERY SITUATION THROUGH FAITH (ahh, another Opportunity for God to express his Faithfulness and Majesty and Ability…cool!), I’ll be taken AMAZING places!

And remember, DO NOT do the “RIGHT THING”…do the REAL thing. Don’t do a different THING, but be a different PERSON! Real, open, honest, humble, and thick-skinned.
